Newfoundland: Come from Away. Experience our down home charm

Cabot Tower, Signal Hill, NL

Why Newfoundland ?

Newfoundland is an island in the North Atlantic. It has diverse cultural and historic sigificance. This picture is that of Cabot Tower on Signal Hill, the site of the transmission of the first wireless message. The youngest province in Canada, sometimes referred to as "the rock", Newfoundland has breath-taking scenery. Neighbors tend to be friendly and engaging. Some rural communities are old fishing villages and the surviving elders are keen to "spin a yarn".

Newfoundland scores highly with Come from Away (generosity leads to musical)

Why not Newfoundland ?

During the 911 crisis, Newfoundlanders stepped up to the plate and helped those stranded, providing meals, accommodations, and basic supplies. The result, an award-winning play, "#Come from away", reflecting on the friendliness of Newfoundlanders.

This is a cliff on the East Coast trail in Pouch Cove

Newfoundland, just because it makes perfect sense

In his program, "#Parts Unknown", chef Anthony Bordain, described Newfoundland as "incredible", claiming "one of the finest meals of North America" was served to him here. Newfoundland is certainly becoming the place to see. Beautiful landscape, friendly people, pleasing cuisine, and cultural uniqueness, why not plan your next vacation to Newfoundland?
